Spanish actor Antonio Banderas, who took Hollywood by storm years ago, told Germany's TELE 5 that "in reality, a movie star is nothing more than a lie." An actor "often plays a role not only in a film, but also in life," Banderas said."A star always has to shine. That might not go well and a star must hide it," the actor said in an interview in which he also spoke about how "hard" it is to handle "the pressure of society to keep oneself eternally young and perfect." "That is unfair and should be prohibited" because it makes people behave as if they were going to live forever, Banderas said.

Banderas went on to say that he did not fear getting old and added that "the wrinkles will come and they will be very welcome," and he rejected the idea of having any plastic surgery.
"That doesn't suit me, although I don't condemn it from the moral point of view. I'd go crazy if I woke up in the morning and saw someone who I really am not. Let life take me where it wants," Banderas said.
"I don't have many fears. I'm satisfied with what I'm doing, at best that helps me to look good," Banderas said, adding that the light of his life is "at home" with his children and his wife, actress Melanie Griffith, to whom he has been married for 15 years.
