Antonio Banderas says long-term relationships are “rewarding”. The actor has been married to his second wife, Melanie Griffith, since 1996. Antonio admits that the rush of passion you feel in the first few years of a relationship does fade, but it can transform into something much deeper.
“The first attraction disappears after one or two years – people panic and break up,” he said in an interview with German magazine Gala. “But whoever's willing to wait will be rewarded.”The 51-year-old has one daughter with Melanie and two step-children. He loves being with the actress because she allows him to be himself.
Antonio is free to change and grow and he doesn’t feel held back. “I learned through the years that I can fall in love with my wife over and over again because she lets me be the way I am and because I can reinvent myself with her,” he smiled.
