Festival’s critics described Banderas as a "pioneer among the Spanish actors who began their career in Hollywood", while Streep was defined as "nowadays best contemporary actress".

Donostia-San Sebastian Film Festival’s organizers announced on Friday that Antonio Banderas and Meryl Streep will be the actor and the actress awarded with this year’s prestigious Donostia Prize.

Festival’s critics described Banderas as a "pioneer among the Spanish actors who began their career in Hollywood", while Streep was defined as "nowadays best contemporary actress".

Both of them will receive the award that previously got actors and actresses as Richard Gere, Woody Allen, Michael Caine, Anthony Hopkins, Susan Sarandon, Al Pacino, Jessica Lange, Anthony Perkins and Gregory Peck.
