(The Skin I Live In) by Almodovar, who was labeled “the women’s director” with his previous movies, including “Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown” and “Volver,” will star Banderas as lead actor. The filming is set to begin today.
The movie, based on French author Thierry Jonquet’s novel “Tarantula,” centers on a famous plastic surgeon whose wife dies tragically in a traffic accident and his efforts to produce human skin.
The shooting will take 11 weeks, and it will star Marisa Paredes, Elena Anaya, Jan Cornet and Robert Alamo along with Banderas.
